Why the Happy Sloth? I believe that ongoing wellness requires a slow, steady approach… kinda like the sloth. Yoga with the Happy Sloth won’t have you bending yourself into a pretzel (although you can do that if you like), but you will build your strength, balance and mindfulness. We won’t get there overnight and there may be setbacks, but I’ll be here with you every step of the way. Here at the Happy Sloth I want to teach people how to create a healthy lifestyle through gentle yet powerful movement, healthful eating, and taking time for yourself and the things you love. I hope when you step off the mat or walk away from our conversations you feel refreshed and have tips to help you on your journey to long-lasting health.
My most popular classes are a combination of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. With Hatha yoga emphasis is placed on controlling the breath, doing gentle stretches, and building strength throughout the body. In Vinyasa yoga you flow directly from one pose to the next and the flow is coordinated with your breath. There’s never any pressure to do more than your body can handle. After completing a yoga practice with me you’ll feel a sense of release in your joints and muscles, and a sense of calmness in your mind.
